Acupuncture And You

Acupuncture often involves a course of treatments, each lasting 45 mins to 1 hour. Treatment plans are tailored to the individual person and depend on the presenting condition. Everyone’s first treatment includes a consultation where you can discuss the reasons you want treatment. I will also ask about your medical history, lifestyle and any prescription medication you might take.

Some people turn to acupuncture for help with a specific symptom or condition. Others choose to have treatment to help maintain good health, as a preventative measure, or to improve their general sense of well-being. Many people return to acupuncture again and again because they find it so beneficial and relaxing. Treatment is aimed at the root cause of the condition as well as the main symptoms, which helps to resolve problems and enhance feelings of well-being. Some people may notice other niggling problems resolve as their main health complaint improves.

The British Acupuncture Council keeps up to date on the latest research in to acupuncture and provides information about the growing evidence base with fact sheets for over 60 conditions. You can get more information by clicking on the link below or by speaking to a BAcC registered acupuncturist such as myself.
